George Craghead writ 1815

This collection consists of an 1815 writ filed with the Wilkes County, Georgia Superior Court by George Craghead. The writ orders Elisha Moore to return her dower slaves to Robert Bentley (Lunenburg County, Virginia), citing that, according to Virginia law, dower slaves cannot be taken out of Virginia; if they are removed, the slaves become forfeit.
